What is unique and interesting about AUGUSTA to visiting groups?

As the hometown of the hardest working man in show business, Mr. James Brown, Augusta’s got soul - welcoming everyone to “Get On Up” in Augusta. For over 125 years, hospitality has been at the heart of Augusta, and that heart beats strong amidst the ingenuity and innovation of today’s prosperous and thriving community. Each April we have the unique opportunity to welcome the world to Augusta as home to the Masters® Golf Tournament.

When meeting downtown at the Augusta Convention Center, you can stroll the Riverwalk during breaks or explore downtown to Broad Street for shopping and a cup of locally roasted coffee. Built in 1845, cruise down the Augusta Canal on a replica Petersburg boat to learn about the history of the only intact industrial canal in the American South in continuous use.

What are some new or upcoming enhancements to AUGUSTA that event planners should know about?

Augusta’s locally owned business community continues to thrive welcoming new eateries and experiences for groups. Located just steps from the convention center you’ll find Edgar’s Above Broad, a rooftop dining experience complete with a putting green, bocce ball court, and some of the best views in the city. Augusta’s dynamic public art scene boasts murals around every corner painted with love by local artists, many inspired by Mr. James Brown himself.

Augusta is located 140 miles east of Atlanta and is easily accessible to most of the Southeast via its location on Interstate 20. The Augusta Regional Airport offers direct flights to and from Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, and Washington DC via Delta and American Airlines.
