The city has undergone a remarkable transformation the past few years. Attractions like Canalside and Riverworks are a must see, and are accessible from our downtown hotels by walking, or by our FREE metro rail system. We are home to some of the most unique architecture in the country, including Our Lady of Victory Shrine and Basilica, multiple Frank Lloyd Wright properties and the HH Richardson Complex. Buffalo is just a short twenty minute drive to one of the natural wonders of the world, Niagara Falls! We are also a city well known for our food, so try a chicken wing or twelve!

What are some nearby cultural experiences that groups would enjoy?

Buffalo is an extremely diverse community, with so much history. Canalside has the largest inland Naval and Military Park in the Country, as well as daily river history and boat cruises like the Miss Buffalo Cruise; featuring live entertainment, food and drink! Canalside also hosts free outdoor activities year round including concerts and fitness activities; and is home to the Explore and More Children’s Museum. The African American Heritage Corridor features many historic sites. Some of these include the Michigan Street Baptist Church -a stop on the Underground Railroad, the Colored Musicians Club – home to the Buffalo Jazz Museum and weekly live music, the Freedom Wall public art display and so much more. The Buffalo History Museum, Albright Knox Art Gallery, Frank Lloyd Wright House and Forest Lawn Cemetery are other must-see stops in Buffalo!


What are some new or upcoming enhancements to Buffalo that event planners should know about?

The Albright Knox Art Gallery is currently undergoing a 200 million dollar expansion and is set to open in 2022. The Buffalo Black Achievers Museum made its debut in 2020. Buffalo is also a city with an emerging public art initiative. You will find public art all over downtown Buffalo when walking to one of our great food or entertainment establishments!
