Arrive early to EMERGE 2023 and participate in a meaningful service opportunity on Tuesday, January 24.


SLEEP IN HEAVENLY PEACE
Bed Building & Delivery

All children deserve a safe, comfortable place to lay their heads. Sleep in Heavenly Peace volunteers building, assemble, and deliver top-notch beds to children and families in need.

A bed is a basic need for the proper physical, emotional, and mental support that a child needs. If a child needs a bed, Sleep in Heavenly Peace wants to make sure they get one. Their mission is that No kid sleeps on the floor in our town! ®


BED BUILDING

Participate in a ‘bed-building’ station to help assemble wood bedframes. While no on-site cutting is involved, you’ll participate in sanding, drilling, and assembling bedframes (headboard, footboard, and side rails). Training will be provided – no experience necessary.

All children deserve a safe, comfortable place to lay their heads. That’s where Sleep in Heavenly Peace comes in. Our volunteers are dedicated to building, assembling, and delivering top-notch beds to children and families in need.

Need to Know:

  • No Experience needed

  • Must sign a liability form before building beds (This will be available onsite).

  • Dust masks and goggles will be provided if needed

  • Attire: Casual, tennis shoes or any close-toe shoes. Please be mindful that with sanding, dust may get on your clothes.

  • Requirements: Must be able to lift 15 lbs.


BED DELIVERY & ASSEMBLY

Participate in delivery and onsite assembly of beds (including mattresses and bedding) in private homes. 


CHAMBLISS CENTER FOR CHILDREN
Painting and Sorting Donations

Volunteer activities may include sorting donations and supplies, cleaning, painting, and organization. These service opportunities will be at one of Chambliss’ thrift stores and at the main campus childcare facility. 

The Chambliss Center for Children preserves family unity and helps prevent the dependency, neglect, abuse, and delinquency of children by responding to the community’s childcare needs. They have 6 offsite facilities, including residential and thrift stores.
