A Message of Thanks From our EMERGE 2023 Serving Partners

Chambliss Center for Children was so honored to host the group from the RCMA Emerge conference on January 24th. You’ve heard the phrase “It takes a village to raise a child” well thank you for being part of our village by coming out to serve. The 15 volunteers completed a total of 26.25 hours organizing, sorting, and cleaning. This was a big help in preparing for our Mardi Gras fundraiser, general campus clean-up and preparing items at one of our thrift store locations. The group’s kindness and generous gift of time to help support our non-profit agency was greatly appreciated. Last year we celebrated our 150th year serving the community by provided care for 750 children in two different programs: the Extended Child Care Program and Residential Services thanks to “our village”.

Here’s a short video about Chambliss Center for Children.

Thank you RCMA Emerge for the opportunity to share our Mission of "NO KID SLEEPS ON THE FLOOR IN OUR TOWN!"  with your group as well as many of your exhibitors. Our "Build Team" had a great time working together with your volunteers to build 78 beds in approximately 2 1/2 hours. Our delivery team was very excited to have the help of your volunteers to be able to deliver 25 beds in two hours. Our Community is better because you were here!

It is also very exciting to know that people from all over the country learned of the Mission of Sleep in Heavenly Peace and that some of them showed a great interest in possibly helping to start a chapter in their communities or working with an existing chapter in their home area. The volunteers from the EMERGE Conference contributed approximately 200 man hours of volunteer time. Thank you all for your time and efforts to help us in the work of achieving our mission!
