Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West
Drawn to Arizona by the beauty of the Sonoran Desert, Frank Lloyd Wright created a provocative and inspiring design for Taliesin West, the great architect’s winter camp and desert laboratory. Be sure to bring a hat and wear walking shoes. Some uneven surfaces.
Heard Museum
The internationally acclaimed Heard Museum is one of the best places to experience the myriad cultures and art of American Indians of the Southwest. The museum's 11 spacious exhibit galleries and beautiful outdoor courtyards feature outstanding traditional and contemporary American Indian art.
Desert Botanical Garden & Phoenix Zoo

The Desert Botanical Garden has more than 50,000 desert plants on display, and just across the street is the Phoenix Zoo, which is home to more than 3,000 animals, many of which are endangered or threatened species. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a hat.
City of Phoenix Sustainability Tour
We’ll start our tour at the Phoenix Convention Center to see how the City of Phoenix diverts food and event waste from the landfill. We’ll continue on with a visit to the City of Phoenix Compost Facility to see how the city intends to achieve the Reimagine Phoenix Initiative's goal to divert 40 percent of our trash from the landfill. Be sure to bring a hat and wear walking shoes. Some uneven surfaces.
Downtown Photography Safari
We’ll start our adventure at the Phoenix Convention Center with an overview of smartphone cameras and how you can make the most of your photos. Then, we’ll go on a walking safari and try out your new skills. Be sure to bring a fully charged phone or digital camera, along with a hat and walking shoes. We’ll be inside and out on our adventure.
Historic Churches & Religious Venues
Visit historic churches and religious venues in Phoenix, including St. Mary’s Basilica, the oldest Catholic parish in Phoenix; Tanner Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, the oldest African American Church in Arizona; the First Christian Church, which incorporates a Frank Lloyd Wright design; and Trinity Cathedral, an Episcopal cathedral located in the historic Roosevelt district.
