Meet New RCMA Member Care Specialist Michele Kausch
What is your role and responsibilities with RCMA?
I am the member care specialist for RCMA. Care is central to this new role–and so it’s my job to work hard to care for our members. I will be looking for ways to find new members and connect our members with one another. please, reach out to me if I can help you with anything!
What experiences have prepared you for this role?
I've worked in lots of different roles that inform my work with RCMA. My work on a church staff and a denominational social service organization as a spiritual care person helps me to relate to planners. I also have worked some in event planning and know the pressure and details that go along with that.
I’ve also worked in sales, so I can relate to the role of our suppliers.
I think what will be most helpful to my role is who I am as a person. For me, everything revolves around nurturing true and authentic relationships. Everything is about relating with, learning from, and caring for each other.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
First and foremost, I enjoy being with my family. I love to be with people and I draw energy from connecting with others. But I also value time for myself. So I take joy in journaling and just time to be. I love to read and be in the outdoors, gardening, walking, and riding my bike.
What are you looking forward to in your work with RCMA?
I'm excited about so much! The first thing is getting to know our community–the people already a part of RCMA, and new people who’ll be joining us. I am looking forward to investing in those relationships and learn how they fit together.
I love working on a team. I already love the RCMA team and feel so valued. I’ve felt valued even in the first conversation I had with Debbie (Hochstetler). It is so reassuring to be a part of a team that interacts so well with each other, and is open to new ideas.
I feel trusted to try new things and put my personal stamp on them. I am encouraged to draw from my experiences and implement new ideas. I'm so excited to be a part of our RCMA and to help us grow and take what's already really good and make it better!
